Opportunities for High School Students
Although the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options program is not in effect in the summer, qualified high school students have other summer opportunities at the University of Minnesota.
ITCEP develops and administers educational programs in mathematics and its related science and engineering applications for pre-college, undergraduate and graduate students, and for K-12 preservice/inservice teachers. The Center contributes to research, assessment, and educational scholarship and collaborates with University, local, and national policy groups working in these areas.
High school students may take summer classes at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, but students must pay tuition, fees, and textbook costs themselves. To register in regular Summer Term courses, you must have completed the 10th grade and rank in the top 20 percent of your class. As a general rule, introductory (1000- and 2000-level) courses are open to you. In exceptional cases, intermediate (3000- and 4000-level) courses might also be available.
Advanced High School Student Services (AHS3) staff members may be available for advising assistance. Contact AHS3 at 612-626-1666, or e-mail ccepseoa@umn.edu.
