Traveling by Plane to the Cloquet Forestry Center
If you are traveling by air to a Split Rock workshop at the Cloquet Forestry Center, the closest airport is Duluth International. Northwest Airlines is the primary carrier serving Duluth. Most flights have a stopover in Minneapolis. There are several flights each day between the Twin Cities and Duluth.
From the Duluth airport, you'll want to take a taxi to the Forestry Center. The ride is about 25 miles, and takes about one-half hour. Taxi fare was quoted at approximately $55 each way in February 2007. Please note that this price is subject to change at any time and you should call ahead to confirm all fares.
Two of the primary Duluth cab companies that serve the Duluth airport are Allied Taxi (218-722-3311) and Yellow Cab 218-727-1515.
You may also choose to fly to the Twin Cities, rent a car for your week, and drive to and from the Forestry Center. The Center is an easy two hour and 15 minute drive from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
