Free Concert to Honor the Life of Martin Luther King, Jr.
On Sunday, February 27, the Ted Mann Concert Hall will come alive to the jazz, blues, and world beat of the Sounds of Blackness. The group, winner of three Grammy awards, will be joined by actor T. Mychael Rambo. The actor's poignant readings of highlights of speeches from civil rights activist Martin Luther King's life will punctuate the free, 90-minute concert. "Music for Martin," co-produced by the University of Minnesota's Office of Multicultural and Academic Affairs and the College of Continuing Education, starts at 4 p.m. and is open to all on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional support is provided by the U's Law School and College of Liberal Arts. For more information, call 612-624-0594.
