Registering for Classes
Credit courses may be applied toward a future graduate degree or certificate providing the course is graduate-level and that you have registered for graduate credit. Note: If you are interested in earning a degree or certificate we recommend you formally apply for admission to your program of choice as soon as possible. When you are admitted you can consult with faculty advisors to help you in planning your degree program.
REVIEW AVAILABLE COURSES
Review courses via the OneStop class schedule or the Graduate School Catalog. If you select your course from a catalog, double check the OneStop to make sure none of the information has changed.
How you register depends on if you are admitted to a graduate degree or certificate program.
IF YOU ARE ADMITTED TO A GRADUATE DEGREE OR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM:
You need to register every term (excluding summer) to keep your admission status active. If you don't want to take a course you can register for GRAD 999 to keep your active status. Visit the University's OneStop registration page to review open courses, registration queues, policies, tuition rates, and to register via the Web.
IF YOU ARE NOT ADMITTED TO A GRADUATE PROGRAM:
You can earn graduate credit that may apply in the future toward a graduate degree. Download and submit the Registration Request for Graduate Credit for Non-Degree Students Form. After you complete this form, send it to the department offering the courses for approval. This form must be used each term until you are admitted to a program. Registration for non-admitted students is not available online. Upon approval, the department offering the graduate course will forward your form to the registrar. You will receive confirmation and payment instructions by mail and e-mail.
