Inter-College Program Options
Degree Structure
The Bachelor of Science degree consists of three options. The Two-Area degree requires 21 credits in two areas and eight supporting credits. The Three- Area degree option consists of 20 credits in one area and 15 credits in each of the two smaller areas. The Thematic requires 50 credits chosen from at least three departments and two colleges. Course work must address a coherent theme throughout.
The Bachelor of Arts degree can be created as a Two-Area degree option as well with 20 credits in each area and 10 elective credits. The Three-Area degree option in the B.A. consists of 20 credits in a large area, and 12 credits in each of the two smaller areas. The Thematic requires 40 credits chosen from at least three departments and two colleges, with 10 elective credits. Course work must address a coherent theme throughout. The B.A. degree has a foreign language/cultures requirement.
The Health and Wellness Thematic is a specialized thematic degree and an excellent choice for students who wish to pursue prerequisite course work in pre-professional areas such as pre-medicine, pre-nursing, pre-chiropractic, or pre-physician's assistant. The Inter-College Program Proposal
Students in the Inter-College Program are required to complete a written proposal which consists of a goal statement, educational history, and a comprehensive list of course work. ICP advisers assist the student in developing the proposal. When the written statement is properly prepared, it is submitted to faculty/area advisers who review and approve proposed course work.
