Admission Requirements

When you enroll in this program you will choose areas of study to create a self-designed Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree.

Students are considered for admission based on an individual review of their application, including key factors such as grade point average, grade trends, prerequisite course grades, and program match, as determined after consultation with an academic adviser.

Preferred academic factors include an overall GPA that is 2.5 or higher, as well as the completion of 50 semester credits. Preferred program match factors are:

1. A two-year break in pursuit of your degree

2. A heavy, though not necessarily exclusive, reliance on evening and independent/distance learning coursework (IDL)

Adviser Appointment and ICP 3001
After attending an information session, you will schedule an individual appointment with an adviser to explore whether Multidisciplinary Studies is your best option. If it’s determined to be your best match, you will then take ICP 3001, Introduction to Multidisciplinary Studies, a course in which you will review the principles and practices of university learning and develop the written proposal that will be formally presented as degree program to faculty/department advisers for approval.
