Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements | Developing a Proposal

Start developing your proposal
Begin by attending an information session. Then schedule an individual meeting with an ICP adviser to explore whether ICP is the best option for you. Once you choose ICP and begin developing your proposal, you can be admitted to degree planning status.

The degree planning status is a form of conditional admission to the program and to the College. To be admitted, you must meet all of the following requirements. Eligibility for admission to ICP depends on your unique situation and should be assessed in close consultation with your ICP adviser.

Meet ICP Course Work and GPA Admission Criteria

Students are considered for admission based on an individual review of the application, including key factors such as grade point average, grade trends, performance in course work relevant to the proposed areas of study and students' demonstrated ability to meet both curricular and development expectations of individualized undergraduate education.  Students must have completed initial degree planning appointments with an ICP adviser.

ICP strongly prefers students to have a 2.5 GPA and 50 semester credits completed. University of Minnesota and upper division course work in areas of concentration are also preferred.
