How to Register

Credit courses may be applied toward a future degree or certificate. Note: If you are interested in earning a degree or certificate we recommend you formally apply for admission to your program of choice as soon as possible. When you are admitted an adviser will be assigned to help you plan your course schedule.

DID YOU REGISTER THE PREVIOUS TERM (excluding summer)?

IF YOU REGISTERED THE PREVIOUS TERM (excluding summer) you may register online. Visit the University's One Stop registration page to review open courses, registration queues, policies, tuition rates, and to register via the Web. EXCEPTION: If you are a non-admitted student and want to take a graduate-level course for graduate credit you must register by mail, fax, or in person, using the  Registration Request for Graduate Credit for Non-Degree Students Form.

IF YOU DID NOT REGISTER DURING THE PREVIOUS TERM (excluding summer), you will need to register by e-mail, mail, fax, or in person.

HOW TO REGISTER: E-MAIL, MAIL, FAX, AND IN PERSON

1. Review courses in the CCE Evening and Independent and Distance Learning  or request a printed catalog, or via the One Stop class schedule. If you select your course from a catalog, double check the One Stop to make sure none of the information has changed.

2. Complete the registration form

IF YOU ARE AN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT (admitted or non-admitted) or are admitted to a graduate program and want to register for a course, fill out the Register for Classes e-mail form or download, print, and fill out the PDF version of the Registration Cancel/Add Form.

IF YOU ARE NOT ADMITTED TO A GRADUATE PROGRAM, but would like graduate credit (that may apply in the future toward a graduate degree), download and submit the Registration Request for Graduate Credit for Non-Degree Students Form. After you complete this form, send it to the department offering the courses for approval. This form must be used each term until you are admitted to a program. Registration  is not available online or via e-mail for non-admitted graduate students.

3. Submit paper registration form to University of Minnesota, 130 Coffey Hall, 1420 Eckles Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55108-6054; OR fax it to 612-626-0008; OR drop it off on campus at a Student Services Center.
