Evolution 101
Evolution 101
This workshop provides K-12 teachers with information to effectively teach evolutionary biology in public and private school science classrooms. The workshop provides teachers the opportunity to interact with professional scientists who are eager to encourage evolutionary pedagogy.
Teachers are invited to attend the scientific sessions, symposia, keynote presentations, picnic, and poster sessions. The evolution education symposium and public outreach lecture by Dr. Tatiana on Sunday, June 22 will be of particular interest to Evolution 101 workshop participants. Teacher registration includes all of these events.
The workshop is sponsored by the Society for the Study of Evolution (SSE), Minnesota Citizens for Science Education (MnCSE), and the Bell Museum of Natural History, with the generous financial support of the ADC Foundation. It will be conducted at the Bell Museum on June 20, 2008. Parallel afternoon sessions focus on grades K-6 and 7-12.
Registration: $20 non-refundable
Organizers: Mark Borrello (U of MN), James Curtsinger (U of MN), Bruce Leventhal (Forest Lake High School), Randy Moore (U of MN), and Brad Ward (Forest Lake High School).
