Dormitory Accommodations
All buildings on the University of Minnesota campus are smoke free

You must register for dormitory reservations through our registration system. Online registration is not currently available; all dorms are full.

Middlebrook Hall - mapweb site

We have reserved a limited number of single and double dormitory rooms in Middlebrook Hall on the West Bank campus of the University of Minnesota. This dormitory is nearest the conference sessions area.

The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The room rate is $43  per night for single occupancy, and $33 per person per night for double occupancy. Breakfast is included in this dormitory package.

Parking will be available to Middlebrook Hall dormitory residents at an estimated rate of $9 per day in the 21st Avenue Ramp. (The rate is currently $9; however, this rate may change.) Parking permits may be purchased when you check in at the dormitory.

We have reserved a limited number of single suite dormitory rooms in Mark G. Yudof Hall on the East Bank campus of the University of Minnesota.

The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The room rate is $48 per night, and no food is included.

Parking will be available to Mark G. Yudof Hall dormitory residents at an estimated rate of $9 per day in the East River Road Garage. (The rate is currently $9; however, this rate may change.) Parking permits may be purchased when you check in at the dormitory.

Hotel Accommodations

Rooms have been reserved at the following hotels on or near the campus of the University of Minnesota. Please make your reservations directly with the hotel of your choice. Mention Evolution 2008 to receive the meeting rate.

THE HOLIDAY INN METRODOME IS FULL

The room rate is $119 per night plus tax for single or double occupancy. Rooms will be held until May 29, 2008, or until the block is filled. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a space-and-rate-available basis. Parking is available on site.

The room rate is $138 per night plus tax, for single or double occupancy. Each additional adult is $20 per night plus tax. Rooms will be held until May 21, 2008, or until the block is filled. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a space-and-rate-available basis. Parking is available on a first-arrive, first-serve basis, in the parking lot located behind the hotel. A daily parking fee, currently at $9.50 per day, per vehicle, applies which includes "in and out" privileges to registered guests. Additional parking is available in the Washington Avenue Ramp, which is connected to the hotel by an enclosed walkway. Current charges are $2.50 per hour, $12 maximum daily charge.

The room rate is $119 per night plus tax, for single occupancy and $129 for double occupancy. Extra rollaway beds are $10 per night plus tax. Rooms will be held until May 24, 2008, or until the block is filled. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a space-and-rate-available basis. Parking is free for hotel guests.

Parking

The University of Minnesota is an urban campus; parking is limited. There is public parking on campus, but the space is limited. There is no reciprocal parking or in and out privileges for campus parking. Many campus surface parking lots do not allow overnight parking. Conference participants staying at hotels are encouraged to leave their vehicles in the hotel parking lots and use alternative means of transportation. There will be campus shuttles and many hotels offer shuttle service.

Internet Access at the University of Minnesota

Conference participants will have Internet access while on the campus of the University of Minnesota for the Evolution 2008 meeting. We will assign wireless Internet access to participants, as well as provide an Internet café with computers set up for participants to use.
