College in the Schools - Student Resources

Welcome to the resources home page for College in the Schools students.

Information for prospective, current, and former CIS students can be found in the College in the Schools Student Handbook (click “Student Handbook” on the left). Forms that may be necessary for current students also may be viewed and downloaded.

Questions answered for current and former CIS students include:

  • How can I obtain a U Card and U of M e-mail access?
  • How can I request my University of Minnesota transcript?
  • Can my U of M credits be transferred to other schools? (Hint: see the statistic beginning with “95%” to the right!)
  • What are some tips for securing credit recognition at other schools?

Questions answered for prospective students include…

  • How can College in the Schools benefit me?
  • Who is eligible to take College in the Schools courses?
  • How many courses should I take?
  • What can I expect from a College in the Schools course?

“It’s funny that these surveys came out just as I was reflecting on my past high school and college experience. CIS was so important in preparing me for the level of critical thinking, writing, and reading that is required in college. I highly suggest that high school students take advantage of such classes. Thanks for the opportunity to enroll in CIS!” College in the Schools alum
