Information Technology Infrastructure - Undergraduate Level

According to the National Alliance of Business, the information technology sector is facing a severe worker shortage with 425,000 positions in the industry likely going unfilled this year. By completing the Information Technology Infrastructure Certificate Program curriculum you'll be prepared to help fill the growing demand for professionals educated in the practical applications of information technology. You'll first delve into learning the mathematical skills that support the knowledge needed to create software and hardware applications, support networks, and manage databases. Then, you'll move on to develop the skills necessary to be proficient in networking engineering, network architecture, network or client/server management, or systems administration or integration.

This program consists of three areas of emphasis:

  • Network Administration
  • Database Administration
  • System Administration

Whichever you choose, you'll learn to design, implement, and maintain the information technology infrastructure that organizations need to manage daily business practices.

This program is not designed to produce programmers, systems analysts, or software engineers, the domain of many college and university MIS/computer science programs. Rather, this program produces graduates who can design, construct, and manage technology operations. An advisory committee made up of executives from a broad spectrum of public and private organizations works to keep the curriculum up to date. These technology professionals, along with program faculty members, have designed a curriculum that emphasizes hands-on application as well as theory allowing you to apply what you learn, immediately.
