Industrial Relations Certificate
Total credits required:  17

Core Courses:  (9 credits)

HRIR 3021  Human Relations Management and Industrial Relations (3 cr)
NOTE:  This course must be taken as the first course in the certificate program as it provides the base for the other courses.
AND 6 credits from the designated HRIR courses in the listing below:

Elective Interest Areas 

Individuals may pursue a wide variety of areas on study and activity within the field of Human Resources and Industrial Relations.  Students may choose to be generalists or focus their HRIR interests toward a particular interest area.  Each of the interest areas indicated below offer opportunities for employment and career growth; others are similarly possible for those who seek other directions.  An interest area must consist of at least 8 credits.

Self-designed (8 credits)  This interest area provides you with an opportunity to select courses that are relevant to your career goals

Completion Requirements
To earn your certificate, you must complete a minimum of 17 credits (these credits do not include prerequisite work).

  To be awarded a certificate, you must submit a completed Application for Undergraduate Degree form online.  NOTE:  The words Degree and Certificate are used interchangeably on the form .  It is important for you to check the deadlines if you want to graduate in a specific term. 

All courses in the certificate must be completed with a grade of C- or better. Core courses must be taken for a letter grade (on the A/F grading basis). Elective courses may be taken on the A/F grading basis or the S/N grading basis. The cumulative gpa for all certificate courses must be a 2.00 or better.

You must complete the certificate within four years of your admission date.
