Administration and Management Certificate Programs

The University offers innovative professional certificates for undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate study.

The Accounting Certificate Program—Level I helps you gain a basic understanding of accounting principles and learn valuable skills to prepare for an entry-level accounting position in small and large businesses, nonprofit organizations, or government agencies. This is an undergraduate level program.

 In Accounting Certificate Program—Level II program you'll learn advanced accounting methods that build on basic accounting knowledge already acquired either through academic education or work experience. The program provides additional preparation for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) examinations. This is an undergraduate level program.

ONLINE! The Applied Business P rogram – undergraduate level integrates business theory and its practical use in the workplace. The certificate is intended for working adults interested in becoming more effective in their daily work by learning business theories and their applications.

The Construction Management Program – undergraduate level offers you an in-depth understanding of the design and technology framework needed in a construction environment, and the communication and management skills required to advance your career.

The Direct Marketing Program – undergraduate level is developed in partnership with The Midwest Direct Marketing Association (MDMA) and the College of Continuing Education.  By completing this certificate you'll gain the skills necessary to effectively target new customers and improve your direct marketing knowledge.

The Industrial Relations Program – undergraduate level helps you gain the insight and ability to ensure human rights in the workplace whether you work for a company or own your own business. The certificate focuses on relationships between employers and employees. This field encompasses a wide range of aspects relating to employment including: sociology, statistics, economics, law, politics, psychology, and history.

The Innovation Studies Program – graduate level is designed to help you learn tools that will allow you to become more self-reliant, flexible, and dynamic. The certificate is designed for those with professional lives that center on knowledge, thought, collaboration, decision-making, change management, and leadership.

The Nonprofit Management Program – graduate level is designed for professionals in nonprofit organizations. It offers you specific knowledge and skills related to not-for-profit human resource development, organizational evaluation, finance, conflict resolution, and decision-making.

The Organizational and Professional Communication Programs offer you tools and skills in organizational communication. You will learn how to get your message across, whether you are faced with a 20- minute presentation to an executive team or need to write a proposal from scratch. The program is offered at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The Policy Issues on Work and Pay Program – graduate level  provides private sector professionals in human resources, public sector labor or employment relations specialists, public servants creating and evaluating public policies, union negotiators, and employment lawyers the insight and ability to better understand and evaluate federal, state, and local policies that affect the employment relationship.
