Courses applied to this program need not be taken in any fixed order, though some courses have prerequisite course work that does not apply to the program. Prior to taking such classes, you must complete the stated prerequisite course work or be given permission by the instructor to register. For more information, contact the Information Center at 612- 624-4000 or at info@cce.umn.edu.
Certificate of Housing Studies courses are listed on a University of Minnesota transcript as graduate classes. If you are thinking about a graduate degree, talk to an adviser as soon as possible, because there are often limits on the number of credits that may be applied toward a graduate degree program.
Completion Requirements
You must complete 15 credits to earn your certificate (these credits do not include prerequisite work). Completing this certificate program requires completion of the indicated courses with core courses requiring a grade of B and a cumulative GPA for all certificate course work of a 2.8 or better.
In order to receive your certificate, please follow these steps:
Visit the Graduate School Web site and review the information. Substitute the word “certificate” whenever you see “degree.” You will find the Application for Degree Form (this is the same form used for certificates) on this site. It must be completed on the first working day of your intended month of graduation.
The Graduate School will then review your Graduate School Post Baccalaureate Program (GSPBC) to see that all coursework has been completed and is recorded on the transcript.
The final GSPBC Final Report Form found in your graduation packet must be signed by the Director of Graduate Studies of your department.
