Registration

Registration for the Whole Grains Summit 2012 is closed; if you are interested in registering for the Summit please contact Nicole Freese: 612-624-3708.

Attention Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians Registered! This Summit's Main Agenda (May 20-22) has been approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration for 14 CPEUs.The pre-meeting "Working Together as a Grains Community to Expand the Whole Grains Market" has been approved for 5 CPEUs and the pre-meeting "Whole Grains Research and Health: Challenges and Opportunities" has been approved for 7 CPEUs.

Early Registration Discount

To receive the reduced registration fee of $595 for regular participants and $295 student, registration must be completed and received by Monday, April 16, 2012. Registrations received after this date will be $695 regular registration and $395 student registration. The registration fee includes includes summit materials, breaks and lunches. You are encouraged to register early to take advantage of the lower fee.

Special Registration Rate

The following groups are eligible for a special registration rate of $395; Nutritionists, Dietitians, School Nutrition Directors/Managers/Administrators, Public Health Nutritionists/Health Education and Academic/Faculty.

Optional Event Fees

Pre-Summit Symposia:

The Whole Grains Summit 2012 organizers are offering 2 pre-summit symposia on Saturday, May 19, 2012. The fee for each symposium is $195 and each symposium is limited to the first 150 participants (these symposia are being offered simultaneously).

"Whole Grains Research and Health: Challenges and Opportunities"
Overview: This symposium will address established evidence regarding health benefits of whole grains, examine existing research, identify challenges and opportunities for filling grains research gaps relative to dietary guidance and discuss ecrrent and potential research approaches for whole grains and their influence on chronic disease/health outcomes. "Working Together as a Grains Community to Expand the Whole Grains Market"
Overview: This symposium will provide resources to increase grain professionals’ knowledge of the supply chain in the development and delivery of quality whole grain products to consumers. The desired outcome is to facilitate increased communication within the segments of the supply chain and to develop a clearer understanding of the use of whole grain ingredients in delivering consumer health. The fee for the optional May 21, 2012 dinner is $75 per ticket. You do have the option to purchase more than one ticket and bring a guest.

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Whole Grains Summit 2012 Scholarship Information

The Whole Grains Summit 2012 organizers are pleased to offer a limited number of student (graduate or undergraduate) scholarships to reduce the registration fee for the main portion of the Summit, May 20-22. These scholarships are made possible by a generous donation from CHS Foundation. The scholarships reduce the recipients’ registration fee to $50, a savings of $245 on the early student registration fee. First preference will be given to students who have submitted a poster or are pursuing a degree in the field of grains and health.

To apply for a scholarship, send the following information to denise@grainsforhealth.org no later than Friday, April 13:

A 5-7 sentence paragraph describing the benefit you anticipate receiving as a result of attending the 2012 Whole Grains Summit (i.e. How will this help you in your research, projects, work, professional development, etc.)

Successful applicants will be provided with a registration form that must be returned with payment of the $50 registration fee to secure the scholarship.

The pre-Summit symposia and Monday, May 21 dinner are optional, additional fee events.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you need to cancel your registration, a refund, minus $150 cancellation fee, will be issued if you cancel by Friday, May 4, 2012. Cancellations after this date will not be eligible for a refund.
