Courses
You can enroll in a University course—whether admitted to a degree program or not—as long as you meet the prerequisites. There is a wide array of courses available, including many that are taught online, in the evening, or during the summer, and CCE offers many applied and professional courses as well.
Finding a Course
Here are a few options to search for a course that meets your needs or interests:
- Search Evening, Summer, Online, and CCE Courses — Our filter tools allow you to refine your search to find just what you are looking for.
- Search the current course catalog — Browse a PDF of our Evening Credit Courses.
- Search for an Online and Distance Learning course — Find links to ODL course descriptions and details.
- Search all University of Minnesota courses — Use One Stop to search all courses across every campus.
If you are enrolled in a degree program, contact your adviser to be sure the course you want to take fits your needs.
Course Term Lengths and Formats
Evening, on-campus courses follow the regular semester schedule.
Online and distance courses are either semester length (term-based) or nine-month terms (extended-term) and are delivered either via the Internet (online) or via printed materials (correspondence).
Please note: All ODL extended-term courses are available for undergraduate credit only.
