Degree Completion Programs

There are many people who, for one reason or another, never finished their bachelor’s degree. Often, completing that degree can make a significant difference in career advancement. For others it is an important milestone of personal growth.

The College of Continuing Education offers a variety of degree programs that can be completed in the daytime, evening, or online.

Individualized Degrees

Individualized degrees offer you the opportunity to design a program that meets your goals and incorporates prior course work. You’ll work closely with your adviser to create a program with course work that is relevant to your goals, and works with your schedule.

Choose courses from across the University, in business, sustainability, communications, IT, economics, and much more. The College offers two individualized undergraduate degree programs.

  • Multidisciplinary Studies Designed with working adults in mind, this program allows you to complete your undergraduate degree with course work across a variety of University departments. Evening, online, and distance courses give you the flexibility you need to reach your goals.
  • Inter-College Program Match your unique academic interests and career goals by creating your own undergraduate degree program using the University's rich and varied course offerings in this classroom-based degree.

Applied Degrees

If you are interested in a management career in the construction, manufacturing, or IT fields, an applied degree could be your solution. Taught by industry professionals, these programs provide a well-rounded education that many of today’s job seekers lack. Business, communication, leadership skills round-out the technical knowledge you’ll need to compete in today’s competitive market.

The College's applied undergraduate degrees include:

Individual courses

Many students begin with a single course, either as a prerequisite, or as a way to test the waters before formally applying to a program. University of Minnesota courses are available to you as a non-degree seeking student. Your adviser can help you select the best course for you.
