Integrated Pest Management Education
Welcome to IPM3, a consortium of federal agencies and land-grant institutions dedicated to the efficient and timely delivery of practical integrated pest information to people responsible for developing and implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
IPM3 provides a Web-based, distance delivery opportunity for individuals interested in IPM to become proficient in the principles and application of IPM as taught by leading IPM authorities in diverse disciplines from various United States universities. Most of the individuals who seek our IPM training are not academics but need practical information so they can implement IPM in their day-to-day pest management decisions.
Target audiences include but are not limited to employees of federal agencies such as the National Park Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service, the General Services Administration, the Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Environmental Protection Agency. Additional audiences include: state/local government officials tasked with IPM, Extension educators, master gardeners, 4-H staff, crop consultants, pest management professionals, and a wide array of green industry professionals.
How It Works
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Certificates of Completion will be given for successful completion of modules and courses.
All modules and courses will be delivered online and asynchronously. Registration is available anytime between October 8, 2012, and June 30, 2013, with each module being accessible soon after you register. You will be contacted by IPM3 to establish a start and end date, which is typically 6 weeks from the start date except for the Facility Managers and Supervisor Module and the Bed Bug Module, which will close 10 weeks from the start date. This allows students to progress at their own pace within the instructional period. Popular sessions are: Fall (October – December); Winter (January – March); and Spring (April – June).
Instructional tuition is based on a rate of $25 per contact hour. However, agencies and organizations can arrange block enrollments for multiple students (more than 10). Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in block enrollments.
IPM3 anticipates adding new modules and courses based on demand and availability of content providers and instructors.
